Class Description
This course introduces students to the basic understanding of communication technologies. The instructor utilizes lectures to describe cellphone communication architecture, cellphone geolocation, IP address, online communication, and strategies in analyzing communication. Students will learn how to read, analyze, and interpret communication data and be informed of the latest updates on iOS/Android that could affect LE investigation. This course is for those with little or no experience/understanding in how certain communication technology works. Upon course completion, students will have a better understanding of how different types of communication technology work and some ideas for improving their performance as a LE officer when handling and investigating communication devices.
